This qualification runs from Level 1 - Level 2. All students are fully supported in and out of the class if required. The focus of this course is to enable people under the age of 25 with learning difficulties and/or disabilities to achieve sustainable paid employment. If you have gone as far as you can academically and you’re ready for employment then this programme may be suitable for you.

  • The course runs 1 day per week in college with and additional half a day job club each week (for the first 16 weeks);
  • You will undertake work placement/experience, with support if required for a further 2 days per week;
  • You will gain a nationally recognised qualification in Employability Skills and will study English and Maths.

Timetabled lessons include:

  • Maths;
  • English;
  • Understanding mindset;
  • Health & safety and security in the workplace;
  • Dealing with your first days at work;
  • Understanding your customers.

This qualification runs at Level 1. All students are fully supported in and out of the class if required. The focus of this course is to develop generic, transferable work skills and to ensure that students can be adaptable, flexible and willing to learn new skills.

  • The course runs 3 days per week;
  • You will gain a nationally recognised qualification in Employability Skills and will study English and Maths;
  • You will undertake work placement/experience, with support if required.

Timetabled lessons Inclide:

  • Maths;
  • English;
  • Communication skills in preparing for work;
  • Responsible work practice;
  • Planning and reviewing learning;
  • Community project.

This qualification runs at Entry Level 3. All students are fully supported in and out of the class if required. The focus of this course is to develop some of the basic skills the students will need when looking for and gaining employment.

  • The course runs 3 days per week;
  • You will gain a nationally recognised qualification in Employability Skills and will study English and Maths;
  • You will undertake work placement/experience, with support if required.

Timetabled lessons include:

  • Maths;
  • English;
  • Action planning to improve performance;
  • Induction to work;
  • Carry out a practical activity in the work place;
  • Understanding a pay slip.

This qualification runs at Entry Level 1 (Formally Pre Entry). All students are fully supported in and out of the class if required. The focus of this course is to develop student’s skills in areas such as communications, reading and writing, mathematics, independent living, skills for the workplace and engaging with the world around them.

  • The course runs 4 days per week;
  • You will gain a nationally recognised qualification in Personal Progress in line with Foundation Learning;
  • You will also participate in enterprise activities and undertake work placement/experience, with support if required.

Timetabled lessons include:

  • Cooking;
  • Early Maths;
  • Early English;
  • Engaging with the world around us;
  • Independent living skills;
  • Horticulture.

This qualification runs at Entry Level 1 (Formally Pre Entry). All students are fully supported in and out of the class if required.
