Since 2016 Havering College has participated in an Erasmus+ funded project called ‘3Es for Youths in VET: engagement, empowerment and employability’. The project has involved working with Colleges in Scotland, Germany, Malta and the Netherlands to support learners in vocational education and training them to develop a new qualification.
The project aim was to research and identify gaps of provision for students who are at risk of becoming NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training). As a direct result of the projects activities, Havering College has developed the ‘Links Programme’.
On the 20th April, the College will be holding a seminar to launch this bespoke study programme, which has been designed so learners can explore a variety of vocational subject areas. This will support them in achieving a positive outcome and onward progression to a formal vocational qualification.
The seminar is scheduled to begin at 10.00am, culminating with lunch and networking as a direct demonstration of the outcome of such a programme. Lunch will be provided by the College’s Hospitality and Catering Students at our Ardleigh Green Campus.
The event is open to interested members of the public and upon invitation, particularly those who work at schools or with young people and would refer them to College or provide them with guidance on career pathways. The deadline for registering your interest is 27th March 2018 at 5:00pm. We look forward to meeting you there.
All courses are represented at this open event but facilities for some courses are located on our Quarles Campus or the Rainham Construction Centre which both have their own open events where you can see the facilities and equipment.
There will be students around on the night, so you can talk to them about what they think of life at the college.
If you need information on careers, funding or travel, amongst other things our student services team will be available to talk to you.
If you would like to apply for a course on the evening our admissions team will be there to help you complete your application to ensure you stand the best possible chance of getting your place on your chosen course.

Have you ever wondered what an apprenticeship is?
An apprenticeship is open to anyone aged 16 and over and typically consists of working four days a week with one day at college. You will be going to work, earning a wage, gaining experience and learning valuable skills on the job; you will essentially be earning while you’re learning.
There are two ways of applying for an apprenticeship. You can either approach an employer and ask Havering College to provide the training, or you can apply for an apprenticeship vacancy advertised at Havering College. Please click the link below to view our current vacancies, or call our apprenticeship team on 01708 462 787:
